A Momentous Occasion

Tanner has been wiggling and wiggling this tooth for some time now, and tonight all his wiggling paid off. His plan was to wait until Bampa came and let him pull it out, but it got so loose tonight that he decided he would let Dad take a look at it. (I definitely think this is a "Dad Area." I do not enjoy the sound of roots popping and snapping.) First we tried the floss around the tooth thing, but Tan kept pushing the floss off with his tongue, then we tried having him bite into a big hunk of meat (we had roast for dinner), but Tan kept pushing the meat to the side of his mouth. Eventually Greg had Tan lay down on the couch and was able to get a piece of floss underneath the tooth... one tug and pop Tan had lost his first tooth. He was so excited I think he immediately forgot about the hurt. The whole ordeal ended up with Tanner getting the last Dove Ice Cream Bar out of the freezer. And those of you who know me know that this is a big deal. Dove Ice Cream Bars are a special treat around here and the kids aren't usually allowed to have any... as my dad would say "They just can't appreciate how good they are." (We used to hear that saying about Haagen Daz Ice Cream and Hayday Cookies when we were growing up.) Tan was so excited for the tooth fairy to come that he put himself to bed and he was asleep before I even realized his lights were out! These type of "growing up moments" are fun.

Grow an Inch or 2

No matter how many times I beg, bribe or threaten, Tanner just won't stop growing. He is getting so tall I can hardly believe it and it is getting hard to keep his pants long enough to cover everything they are supposed to. I just bought these pants 2 months ago and they are already at the top of his shoes! I guess I'll just find some other way to keep him from growing. Any suggestions?

Is it Summer yet?

Is it Summer yet? I have heard this question a lot lately and I have to keep saying "Not yet." Bryn was tired of this answer so she took matters into her own hands. Summer = Swim Suit.

It must be Summer.

Kade

Kade will be 6 months tomorrow so I thought I would share a few things about him. Kade is my sweetheart. He is so easy going and easy to please. He is very ticklish and loves to be tickled. There are times when you can pretty much tell he is begging to be tickled. It is very easy to get him to smile. He is very easy to calm, but he doesn't get upset very often. He loves his food and he has a funny content moan when he eats. He sooo loves his brother. Tanner can get Kade to laugh like no one else can. And he is always so content to sit and watch Tan and Bryn. He loves standing up and does a funny swaying dance whenever he gets the chance. He is getting teeth right now and it is hilarious how determined he is to chew on things. He has just started this new talk/sing thing and I love it. We love our Kada (as Bryn calls him) and we are glad he is a part of this family!

Got Rain?

I've lovingly been informed that I haven't posted anything this month (thanks Nik!) :) So, this is what we are going to be enjoying this week. Rain, Rain and more Rain! All this rain has just accumulated this morning and it was accompanied by some great thunder and lightening shows. We enjoy this puddle every time it rains and will soon be putting in a drain to take it away from the house. It has started to become such a problem that it is flowing underneath the house and coming out in the front corner! I hope we don't float away any time soon. So, to all of you in Utah suffering through some more snow...I think I'll keep the rain!
