I guess I never really thought about how fun it would be to dress my boys up in matching outfits. Call me crazy, it was a lot of fun. These two boys love each other so much... I am completely enjoying it while it lasts.
We finally got some snow on the 31st of January. School was cancelled for 2 days, the town shut down and Walmart even made it optional to go into work (too bad we couldn't convince Greg to take advantage). We really laugh about the effect the snow has on the city but I guess it is all ok because then we get a chance to play together and enjoy the little snow that we get here. Bryn was able to wear Tanner's hand-me-downs for snow clothes and thank goodness Tanner was able to squeeze into his stuff from last year. It just isn't worth going out and buying new stuff for a one day event.
After playing in the snow the kids came in and we made Graham Cracker and frosting cookies and drank Chocolate Milk. It is a simple and favorite treat at this house.
Kade pretty much stayed inside and chilled (or should I say 'kept warm'). Nothing too exciting, but I also included some pictures to document it.
Later that night Kade sat in his Bumbo and watch as the kids got through the tub. He loves mirrors so this keeps him occupied.
My friend Alissa tagged me to share 6 habits about myself that you probably don't know. Well, this isn't the first time that I have been tagged for this or something similar so I thought it was about time that I followed up with the tag.
I have to have my feet hanging off the end of the bed when I go to sleep.
I have to do a full 360 degree roll in bed when I first get in. For some reason it helps me find my 'comfy spot.'
I have to have my kids hair done before they go anywhere. It kills me to give into Tan's beggin to go 'without gel' on Saturdays.
As soon as I find out that someone is coming over I get the vacuum out and go over the living room. This drives Greg crazy, so I have tried to tone it down a bit.
I don't know why I do this, but when I am doing dishes I have to let the water run pretty much the entire time. I think this habit started because it takes so long to get the hot water to come. I have caught myself turning the water on to get hot, leaving the room and forgetting about it. We could probably cut our utilities in half if I would just break this habit.
I really enjoy Diet Coke. Since the new year I have really tried to cut down. I don't have it unless we go out to eat (which isn't very often). But when we do go out it isn't uncommon for me to go through 4+ glasses. Yum, I love the stuff.
Now that I have finished this I am going to tag Megann Bench, Nikki Salazar, Camille Phillips and Wendy Condie.
Remember the note Tanner put on his bedroom door that said "Don't"? Well tonight as we were about to go to bed, we checked on the kids and noticed that Tan has updated his sign. Now it says, "Don't Mom". Can you tell it was a rough night? I think I better make Dorito Casserole or something like that for dinner tomorrow to get back in Tan's good graces.
Tonight I tried a new recipe for dinner. I thought it was pretty good. Apparently I was the only one. Greg classified it as "Hungry Man's Food," and in trying to get Tanner to eat it I promised him that if he would hurry and eat it I wouldn't make it for a long long time. "Until I die?" was his reply. Enough said.
Monopoly (or Monopolo as Tanner likes to call it) has become one our family's favorite games to play, but what does it mean when your 5 year old keeps beating you? We just finished a game where Tanner put both me and Greg into bankruptcy. He finished with all the railroads, hotels on 3 of his properties, Boardwalk and many other additional properties... not to mention $1500 in cash! Believe me, we aren't going easy on him either. But I guess there is something to look forward to... he promised us next time he would let us win.
