Kade’s Reading List

Kade has quite the talent of procrastinating bed time. But it's one that I willingly give in to. This kid loves his books. Here are a couple of his favorites.
  • Welcome to Bob's Building Yard
  • Go, Dog Go!
  • Clifford's First Valentines
  • Brown Bear Brown Bear
  • Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb (Dum Ditty Dum Ditty Dum Dum Dum)
  • The Going to Bed Book
  • The Spot Series

There are many nights we will go through the whole stack before he's satisfied.

Good Night Little Mister

This is Little Mister. From the moment he was born a boy, instead of the girl we were expecting, he has had a mind of his own. Most kids like to cuddle with a teddy bear or a blanket at night. Not Little Mister. He'll take his leather gloves and shoes any night of the week. We will most definitely keep him and we will love him because he loves his leather gloves and shoes. Good night Little Mister. Sweet Dreams.

My 18 Month Old Buddy

I just got another bin of Tanner's old clothes down for Kade to use and I love the memories that come back when I see certain shirts, pants or shoes. When I put this outfit on Kade this morning, I knew I would have to go back through the pictures to find this specific one of Tanner when he was wearing the same thing. It was my Mom's birthday, and we were ready to go out to dinner with her and the rest of the family to celebrate. Amazingly enough Tanner and I were ready early so we went into the front room of our house in Utah (my favorite room in the house) and watched out the window for my parents to arrive. Tan was being so dang cute I just had to snap a few shots. Although I love the 6 year old Tanner so so much, it definitely makes me miss my alone days with my 18 month old buddy.

And here are some shots of Kade, my 18 month old buddy.

I love these two.

Who Needs a Puppy?

This will be my last post for the day. Tanner has been begging for a puppy. He has it all planned out that on his birthday we'll go to Petco and get a puppy. But, when I was looking through my pictures I ran across this one and it forced me to ask the question: Who needs a puppy? We've got Kade!
This picture also give you a great idea of what I do most the day, almost everyday. I don't know if I'll ever be able to keep up with this kid! It's a good thing I love him so much!

Heart Day Parties

As usual with the holidays Kade and I were able to go to Bryn and Tanner's Valentines Parties at their schools. It is always fun to go see them in there element and hear the stories their teachers have to share. Here are some pictures to share from each of the parties.
Kade always makes himself at home when we go to Bryn's school. Thank goodness there are things for him to do. It helps me be able to watch Bryn (at least a little bit).

Eating snacks.

Bryn getting ready to play with the parachute. It was so fun to watch her interact with the other kids in the class. She really loves her class and her teachers.

This is at Tanner's Party. When we walked in the classroom, Tanner was at the 'snack' station. It was pretty funny to see Kade kick Tan out of his chair, climb on up and start eating his food. I think he ate more of it than Tanner did. I couldn't even tear his eyes away from the plate long enough to take a picture. I really don't think Kade enjoys being the youngest. He honestly thinks he should have been born first!
I just realized I didn't get any other pictures from Tanner's party. I think I was a little preoccupied with keeping Kade from tearing up the classroom.

Winter Weather

The kids have been begging for the snow to come- unfortunately I don't have any power over the snow. But the Ice definitely came. Luckily we were only out of power for an hour, some were definitely not as lucky. Greg was able to take a few days off work, the kids were out of school for a week, in fact, the whole town shut down. But, we didn't sit home bored. We had a GREAT time. Here are our adventures.

We received quite a bit of ice during the storm. It really was beautiful, but very dangerous as well. We were grateful for a warm, stable home that night.

Kade really wanted to be outside (as always) but I don't think it all lived up to his expectations. Especially when mom uses him as a prop for her pictures. Poor kid.

Greg and the kids spent hours out being pulled on a sled behind the four wheeler. Kade and I joined them for a little bit and it was so fun to watch Tan hand on with all his might while Greg tried to buck him off. Luckily Tanner only really took one fall and he quickly found a greater motivation to stay on the sled. ICE. It may LOOK just like snow, but it definitely doesn't FEEL just like snow when you fall!

Playing in the backyard. Nothing slowed these kids down!

Birthday Pictures

This is one of the reasons I LOVE 1 year birthdays! It is so fun to watch how each child will react to their very own cake. Kade took a minute to warm up to the idea, but then went at it full gusto! He is such a sweet kid. I still can't believe he is one!

Kade

Kade is getting so brave! I think he'll be walking around by the end of the week. Here is an update of his progress. As you can tell we are all pretty excited for him!

Here is another one of Kade that I love. Just something to make you smile!

And He's Off...

Well, kind of.

Can you believe it? This one is growing up a little too quickly for me.
